I wanted to post about my recent experience with an alcohol detox program at this alcohol detox center in Orange County, California. I’ve been drinking since I was young, though it wasn’t until the last few years that my drinking got way out of control. I tried everything I could think of to get better, but it was no use. My shrink suggested that maybe it was time to try an alcohol treatment program. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I signed up. After all, I wasn’t happy or healthy or fulfilled in any way. I was just drinking day in, day out. So, I gave it a shot, and the alcohol detox center I went to was simply stellar.
I started rehab with an alcohol detox program
Before I could start treatment at this rehab, the counselors said I would have to attend their alcohol detox program for my own safety. Apparently when someone drinks as often and as much as I did, their body adapts to booze so well that when you go cold turkey off the stuff you have to have medical supervision. This alcohol detox center gave me the option of a normal alcohol detox or a rapid detox program. I like anything with “rapid” in the title, so they started me on one of their rapid alcohol detox programs.
I was surprised at how fast and comfortable the alcohol detox program was, especially compared to the horror stories I had heard from other people. The doctor at this alcohol detox center gave me medications to help ease any withdrawal symptoms and help my body flush out any addictive chemicals.
Within just a few days—instead of the week a traditional alcohol detox takes—I was ready to start my alcoholism treatment at the rehab. I felt completely invigorated and ready to do anything to improve my life. I’ll save the stuff about my rehab experience for another post. I just wanted to relate to everyone what a smooth ride the detox program at this alcohol detox center was.
