Dual diagnosis refers to the presence of a disorder apart from drug addictions. Many people suffering from drug addictions have co-occurring disorders. These disorders vary from mental health disorders like bipolar, schizophrenia, eating disorders, ADD & ADHD, as well other addictions to alcohol or various other drugs. A recent survey on drug abuse across the U.S. reveals that nearly 14 million Americans suffer from co-existing disorders.
